In his intimate debut hour “SILLY BOY,” Rich Hardisty takes us on a journey through the highs and the lows of his unusual life. Expect anecdotes and observations about mental institutions, missing dads and mania, all from his warm/inquisitive/childlike perspective. In the show, Rich tries his best to convey what mental illness really looks and feels like. But you won’t find any self pity or loathing here… this is a celebration of the beauty and silliness of it all and the interesting, hilarious and sometimes shocking things his brain is capable of doing (whether he wants it to or not). The show culminates in a 10 minute performance piece using a projection, where Rich attempts to show what a manic episode looks and feels like inside his head. Raw, open and honest but most importantly…FUNNY!

The Big Takeover With Afro Dominicano
Fronted by the charismatic Jamaican-born singer and songwriter Nee Nee Rushie, the seven-piece New York band The Big Takeover plays original music that is rooted in and reverent toward the genres and rhythms of Jamaican pop: reggae, rocksteady, ska. They are devotees of Desmond Dekker and the way the old school did it. At the same time, The Big Takeover crosses lines and blends traditions like global pop fusionists. Their deceptively complex arrangements and big hooks connect with the spirit of Motown and the uptown sophistication of the 21st-century retro soul and R&B revival scene. Don’t miss NY’s baddest roots, rock, and reggae! Afro Dominicano is a Latin fusion band which centers its music into Afro Caribbean soul. They blend traditional folkloric roots music from the Dominican Republic with Afro-beats, reggae, calypso, samba, funk, punk rock and other Caribbean rhythms. They play mostly original songs written and arranged by the band and a few cover songs renditions to the music they grew up listening to as Dominicans living in the U.S.A.
